This weekend, my wife and I went on a tour of the labor and delivery section of a hospital. There were about 10 women on the tour – 7 white and 3 black. All the white women were with their husbands. One of the black women was with a man, but they weren’t married. The other two black women were with older women – I assumed they were with their mothers.
At one point in the tour, the nurse asked the women to raise their hands if they wanted a "natural delivery" (this is swipple (SWPL) code for a delivery without an epidural). All the white women raised their hands. The nursed then asked the women to raise their hands if they wanted an epidural immediately when they got to the hospital. All the black women raised their hands.
If you are tempted to read anything into this story, just remember to keep repeating "there are no race differences" to yourself until you start to believe it.
Ah well, half those white women will be screaming for the epidural once the pain hits.
I agree. I side with the black women on this one. (Except the whole illegitimate child part.)
