The decline and fall of the American Empire

I think I’m going to turn this into a series of posts which will highlight America’s current retardation.

Today’s entry is this story:

On the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a federal appeals court said the law entitles wheelchair users at a restaurant to the same view as everyone else of the food that awaits them – in this case, burritos, tacos and the rest of the fare at Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Just to be clear, we have a federal court ruling on what you get see while someone makes your food.

What’s particularly funny is that that someone is probably in the country illegally. The court, however, doesn’t care about that law. It’s too busy making up other ones.

  1. Carter says:

The blind should be allowed to go into the kitchen to touch and sniff the food that awaits them.

  2. Andrew says:

    Gawd.

    LOL at blind accommodation, exactly

The insane handi-attorney even admits Chipotle was fighting for a “pretty” (value-creating!!!) dining area.

No discussion of any cost-benefit analysis. Perhaps of the Rush (band) school, “We will pay the price, but we will not count the cost!”

…I so hope this was lost on a technicality…

    RETARDED indeed.
